Soft Tissue TUMORS
Soft tissue tumors are distinguished from bone tumors in that they primarily develop from cells with origins within fat, muscle, nerve, blood vessel, or appendages of the skin (sweat glands, hair follicles, etc). Since soft tissue tumors can be benign or malignant, a biopsy is an important first step in planning treatment. Malignant tumors, because they are cancerous and have the potential to spread to other areas of the body, require a more extensive and individualized treatment plan.
